Hi, I am Brooke Groneman!

I am a lawyer, wife to a wonderful hubby, and mama of two bubbly, curious, adorable daughters. I am also an identical twin (everyone needs a fun fact to share).

 

After graduating from Creighton Law School, I began practicing law full-time. I had worked from my first year summer straight through my graduation as a third year law student. I chose a very specialized niche as a patent attorney with a Master’s in Biology, even taking the time to pass the Patent Bar during law school. After first year grades came out, I had several on-campus interviews. In my interviews, I told every law firm I wanted to do patent prosecution (at this time, many firms in Nebraska did not do patent prosecution).  So in the summer after my 1L year, I began clerking for the technology transfer office for the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It was a great experience, and I stayed there through my 3L year. I also had to the opportunity to do a brief summer clerkship with a patent firm in Texas during my 2L year. 


I went on to work for patent law firms for a few years. I learned how to bill hours and use my IP knowledge. When the global pandemic hit, I went to work in-house negotiating contracts for a company that makes medical and industrial x-ray equipment. I realized how much I loved working with people from all backgrounds. I had a great boss that took the time to train me. And I discovered my passion for helping young lawyers find their own way in the practice of law.
